STUDENT ELIGIBILITY

The general elements, which a student must satisfy to be considered eligible for any financial student assistance, are:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or national, or an eligible non-citizen
  • Be a regular student enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an eligible program at an eligible institution
  • Not be enrolled in elementary or secondary school
  • Have financial need, if applicable
  • Not be in default on a Title IV loan
  • Not be liable for an overpayment of a Title IV grant or Federal Perkins loan
  • File a statement of educational purpose
  • Be registered with the Selective Service, if required
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • Not have borrowed in excess of loan limits
  • Have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent; or have the ability to benefit from the education or training offered
